"The Moment" is a commission of the Everyman Theatre and an exciting experiment to expand the horizonts of physical theatre and new writting.

Abstract text from Michael McLean and Chris Fittock

together with Momentum's innovative physicality and devising methods culminated in two presentations presented on Wed 16th and Friday 18th of July 2008 at the Everyman Theatre - Liverpool as a part of the Everyword Festival.

Further developent of this project in 2009....

Part 1: Mountain

by Michael McLean.

An Alumni of the Everyman Young Writers Programme, Michael's first play, The Electric

Hills was produced at the Everyman in 2007.

Mountain is based on a story written by Michael McLean about the relationship between a brother and a sister and the battle between them from childhood till her death.

The piece takes place on a mountain where the brother has spent a month in a search of his dead sister. It is a journey through memories, extreme physical conditions - real and imaginary - as experienced in the brother's mind as an attempt to find relief.

Part 2: Dreadful Hours

by Chris Fittock.

Chris previous work includes Margins (BBC Radio Lancashire) and Red (unitytheatre

and Theatre 503).

The Dreadful Hours is based on Chris Fittock's idea to experiment with durational performance and the concept of time. Living in such a fast rhythm of life like we do today, what are our chances to capture and experience one moment, a moment that could affect the next few minutes of your everyday life or more. The experiment led us to a outrageous dinner scene between two characters and the fear of the silence/moment and desperation to fill the uncomfortable void. This dinner might seem extreme and hilarious but it is not far from reality... enjoy your meal!
